The Gibson County Assessor’s Office locates, identifies, and appraises all taxable property accurately, uniformly and equitably in accordance with Indiana law. The County Assessor is responsible for maintaining all annually assessed mobile homes, oil, real and personal property for the twenty taxing districts. Those taxing districts are Barton Twp, Mackey, Somerville, Center Twp, Francisco, Columbia Twp, Oakland City, Johnson Twp, Haubstadt, Montgomery Twp, Owensville, Patoka Twp, Princeton, Union Twp, Ft. Branch, Wabash Twp, Washington Twp, White River Twp, Hazleton and Patoka. Our staff is thoroughly trained in all areas of the office, and we attend classes and seminars yearly to maintain a complete understanding of the most current assessing practices.
The Gibson County Assessor’s Office handles a wide array of additional tasks:
All deeds need to start in the Assessor’s Office, then the Auditor’s Office and conclude in the Recorder’s Office.
The Assessor’s office, Auditor’s Office, and the Recorder’s Office will not be able to process deeds after 3:00 pm. We will be happy to help you with any needs you may have until 4:00 pm.
